This is pretty much my order.

    1. Best available player (QB RB WR)
    2. RB is I didn’t get one yet otherwise best QB or WR
    3. Get the position I didn’t get yet out of the three
    4. RB
    5. WR
    6. TE
    7. Defense
    8. Backup QB
    9. RB
    10.WR
    11. Kicker
    12. Whatever I need and so on….

    One of my favorite questions.

There’s just word you must learn, VALUE.

Value Based Drafting (VDB) is a concept that will assure that you achieve maximum results with every single pick.

The key is not who you pick, but whether you got that talent with value. In other words…

“The value of a player is determined not by the number of points he scores, but by how much he outscores his peers at his particular position.”

I attached an article to introduce the concept. It offers excellent examples.

VDB helps you avoid ‘reaching’ and locking yourself into a static formula of RB-RB-QB-WR…

To simplify things, that website has a free software program called the Draft Dominator, which incorporates dynamic VDB.

Look, everybody else has it in their heads you have to take a RB first.
    That’s BS.
I always take the best QB first.
I usually get Peyton Manning and I clean up with him.
Think about it, they say the RB will give you the stats, but if you get P. Manning, Brady, Brees, Anderson (Cleveland), or another QB that consistantly gets over 300 yards and muliple TDs, why wouldn’t you pick them first?
I always take a QB first, and I have at least 5 teams a year, and I get champion or 2nd place in as many as 4 of them.

get a qb cause mostly everybody gets rb as first round picks
    then you do

    so like this
    1.qb
    2.rb
    3.wr
    4.qb
    5.wr
    6.rb
    7.wr
    8.qb
    9.te
    10.te
    11.k
    12.def
    and whatever is left

After reading all the other answers..I have to say, there is NO statistical or mathetmatical formula to WIN Fantasy games. However, good drafting gives you a good edge to make the playoffs at least. I have seen many teams who have the best players on their team lose in the first or second round of the playoff. If you want to draft smart, pay attention to how the league is scored. Yahoo has defaulted QB passing TD’s to 4 points, which means, you don’t want to draft a QB off the bat. Everyone usually drafts LT or this year AP first, If you can get them, great! but if you can’t, go opposite of what everyone does, take solid WR’s in your first round and second round. If you can get Moss and Owens on your team, you just went ahead in points compared to the rest of your league (do the math from last year). Most people draft in the way they “read” or the way they are told. Imagine you can grab Moss, Owens and Wayne…wow, forget the running game…you just got a franchise on your hand! Most people don’t see it, but pay attention…the league going with a 2 back system does not help your fantasy RB.

to be honest, it’s not all about the draft, most people will drop drafted players within a week or 2, so pay attention to waivers and who’s available…be quick with the mouse.

i like to do the position steal. if i’m 2nd or 9th out of 10, i make my pick based on what i need vs what the guy behind me already has. for example, in the 4th round, I’m 9th and the 10th guy has a QB and needs a WR, I’ll pick a WR first, and then a QB after he picks.

This year my first pick would be (in order):

    LT
    Adrian Peterson (Minn)
    Peyton Manning
    Tom Brady
    Best running back available

IF and only IF you are outside the top 5 picks, my strategy will be WR, WR, WR. Instead of taking a questionable RB 1st, take Moss. Then when pick 2 rolls around and all the top players are gone, you take Wayne. Now after your 2 WR picks, everyone will be scrambling to get a top WR. Now pick 3, you might be able to get Andre Johnson (sleeper to have a great year). Now you have guarenteed yourself the top WR core. Then pick 2 solid RB next followed by your QB(maybe Jay Cutler)
