The real startegy is to beat up on the other team.

Football field is 100 yards long. The goal is to score touchdowns and field goals. They move the ball down field by either running or throwing it. The offense trys to score while the defense trys to stop them from scoring. THey get 4 trys or “downs” to gain 10 yards which gives them another set of downs.

the real stratagy is to scor points and defend your goal so the opposing team doesnt score

The point is to get the ball into the endzone by running or passing. That’s worth 6 points. Then you can kick an extra point, or try to pass or run it in for 2 more points. You get 4 tries to move the ball 10 yards up the field (downs). If you can’t do that by your 4th down, you can punt it to the other team or try one more time but if you fail they get the ball where you stopped and go the opposite direction.

just remember this and you’ll never go wrong….you’ve seen all those lines on the field…well they are 5 yds apart…as long as the team with the ball can advance it 2 lines or 10 yards (they have 3 attempts to do this) then their “set of downs” renew and they attempt to go another 10 yards…they do this enroute to the goal line to score…so always pay attention to the 1st down marker…if the team with the ball fails to reach it within 3 tries then they will have to kick the ball to the other team and it starts all over again…this time the other way…..God, I feel like I’m talking to the quarterback for the Saints…..!!!~~~

    The basics…
10 yards. is a first down. This is done, by running or the quarter back throwing the ball. You get 4 downs to do this.

The defense can sack the quarterback, or runner behind the line of scrimage, for a loss of yards, therefore, it would be (if this is done on 1st down.) 2nd and what ever they lose in yardage… so let’s for the sake of argument, it’s second and 14. 14 yards to the origianal first down marker. touchdowns are 6 points.. extra points, PAT’s.. are 1 a field goal other than a PAT… is 3 points.

Look at it as a battle. In order to win, you have to take the ball inside the other teams endzone. Each time you do it, you score points. The one with more points wins.

Well the strategy of football is to kick the ball into the opposing teams goal. But you can’t touch the ball with your hands. And if you foul someone you take a penalty shot. Each shot counts as 5 points. But the penalty shots are 2.
